I Love My Cervical Traction Pillow!

Feedback for the arc4life pillow
One of Arc4life's most popular products is the cervical linear traction neck pillow- check out some recent feedback for this pillow from arc4life customers just from August 2012.

I used to have a lot of neck pain until I bought my traction pillow from Arc4life. I used the traction “V” side of the pillow which really helped my neck pain. When the pain subsided I turned the pillow around and used the Linear Gravity side. This is the side I currently use every night; I don’t know how I lived without it!

Will My Neck Pillow Help with my Neck Pain Over the Long Haul?

Absolutely!  Sometimes it will be a quick fix for your pain in the neck also.  The key, however, is to think about the long term.  Using the pillow will often help to correct spinal alignment and neck posture over time.  It just won’t do it overnight, reason being is that it has probably taken some time for your posture to shift out of place.
The pillow may align things enough to take pressure off of the nerves creating pain or relax muscles that are tensioned.  It may also help inflammation dissipate, which often builds up with misalignments and muscle tension creating more nerve pressure.
So, use a neck pillow to help realign your neck or maintain your neck alignment.  It’s typically going to take some time so rest assured (literally!) that it’s working.  You may even benefit from some short term neck pain relief.  In the long haul, using your pillow when you’re not in pain, will keep neck pain away too!
Have you ever experienced neck
pain when you wake up in the morning?

The Secret to Your Best Sleep
Hint: Neck Position

Sleeping on Your Back can Prevent
 Neck and Back Pain
A recent CNN article entitled “what is the healthiest sleeping position” highlights the best position for sleeping- and not just for comfort. The best position for sleeping is on ones back. It prevents neck pain, and lower back pain. By sleeping in the right position, you can align the C-curve in your cervical spine properly. Having a proper neck pillow can make a big difference. The Arc4life cervical traction neck pillow has a neck roll on one side. The other side with a “V” provides gentle neck traction as one lays on his or her back. This contoured neck pillow can provide tremendous relief for someone with degeneration in the neck spine, arthritis, a disc herniation or symptoms such as numbness and tingling in the hands or the arms.

Sleeping on one’s back can also prevent lower back pain because you can place a positioning wedge under the knees. This simple placement of a positioning roll (composed of fiber or foam) can give relief of lower back pain, sciatica and other lower back conditions. This position of sleeping on the back can take time to get used to but in the long run, it is beneficial for many reasons.

Believe it or not there are other benefits of sleeping on one’s back. It can help to reduce acid reflux. Elevation of the head is important because your stomach will be below the esophagus. So acid or food doesn’t come back up.

Finally, it reduces the wrinkles on your face. Who knew that sleeping on your back, can help with your looks too !! With nothing pushing up against your face- you wont’ wake up with wrinkles and can prevent them in the long run as well.

The Right Neck Pillow For Support

First let’s describe what a neck pillow is. A Neck Pillow is a special pillow designed to give you adequate neck support when you sleep. It may come in various shapes and sizes and made out of many different types of material.

Our most successful pillow for people is our Cervical Traction Neck Pillow. This pillow is made out of a synthetic fiber. It’s not too hard like sometimes foam pillows are, not too soft like a down or feather pillow, but just right. It has a built in neck roll with slightly more fiber to hold support in the neck.

This neck roll is the key ingredient to a good neck pillow. It’s this neck roll that will maintain the proper neck curvature as well as improve it. This is important because keeping your best neck alignment ensures that the nerves in the neck are free from pressure and therefore keeps you pain free.

The traction pillow also has a built in “V” which allows for gentle neck traction and prevents you from moving around too much at night. The traction helps open up those nerve holes slightly giving additional nerve pressure release.

This pillow is also essentially 2 pillows in 1 because if you rotate it 180 degrees you have the Linear Gravity Pillow side. This side consists of only the neck roll and not the “V”.

The Linear Gravity Pillow is our 2nd most popular and comes in a small, medium, and large size whereas the Traction Pillow only comes in the medium or standard size. If you are over 6’2” we recommend the large; if under 5’1” we recommend the Linear Gravity small neck pillow.
