Some Crazy Things You May Do In Your Sleep!

Who knew that we do anything but sleep, move around a bit, and maybe get up to go to the bathroom. Well, the fact is there are a bunch of things people do while they snooze that you wouldn't believe.

Here they are:

  1. Sleepwalking - I apparently did it once when I was a kid and tried to get out of the house.  Probably good I didn't, but the banging on the door woke everyone up!!!
  2. Talk or Scream - just recently someone I know was telling me they did this and it kinda freaked her and her husband out a bit.  My mother-in-law talks in her sleep; once you're used to it it doesn't really bother you, and she seems fine.
  3. Send text messages.  I think I could imagine some people doing this.  They do it all the time when awake, during sleep too - jeez...
  4. Drive.  This can happen when a sleep-walker makes it out of the house.  Also, be careful with sleep medications too.
  5. There is something called sleep sex or sexsomnia - Having sex while awake is probably better?
  6. Prepare and Eat Food
  7. Act Out Their Dreams - I'll never forget the story my grandfather told when my uncle was a kid.  My uncle thought he was in a base ball game and my grandfather played along with him.  "You hit a homer- run the bases".  Then he would put my uncle back to sleep.  No harm, no foul - no pun intended.

So why does this happen?  I think we need to examine what we are eating, taking, and our sleep patterns. After that I would use the traction pillow.  Having good neck alignment and a good night's sleep fixes a lot...

I Have a Neck pillow But I sleep on my belly?

Are you a Stomach Sleeper? Are you waking up with morning neck pain,
stiffness and headaches?
One purpose of the arc4life traction pillow is to convert you to a back or side sleeper.  Stomach sleeping can really put the neck in a bad position. In addition, it can cause headaches when you wake up in the morning. Not a good way to start the day.   That being said, getting a good night's sleep is extremely important, but this only lasts for so long being a stomach sleeper.

When we are little kids we have so much flexibility we can easily do it but as we get older we can't.  The best thing to do is get out of the habit now.  A neck pillow is great because the pocket holds you better in place.  Sleeping on your side is just fine, and the neck pillow fills in the gap between your neck and shoulders.

Tips For A Good Night’s Sleep, And No Neck Pain When You Wake Up!

1. Keep your bedroom as dark as possible, and as quiet as possible, and as comfortable as possible. Leave the cell phones in another room.  Keep the TV in the livng room where it belongs.  Get a quiet fan to kkep you a little cooler and relaxed.

2. Try to keep a regular sleep schedule. For example, try to go to bed and get up at similar times each day.  Getting your body in habit is important, this one can be tough sometimes but do your best.

3. Use a good neck pillow.  My favorite is the cervical traction pillow!

4. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, or smoking close to bedtime.

5. Limit eating and exercise too close to bedtime as well.  Try reading in bed to relax the body.  This is the best pillow to do that comfortably: Arc4life Bed Wedge.

6. Exercise for at least 20 minutes at least a few days per week. Studies have shown that this helps your body.  Sometimes you may find when you do alot during the day and get tired you can fall asleep easier.
